Rockermoms Against Childhood Diseases is an organization dedicated to using their musical gifts to raise both
funds and awareness for the fight against childhood diseases.
RACD organizes and hosts: benefit concerts around California; two festivals each year in cities throughout
the United States; and musical visits to children's hospitals all year long. RACD showcases bands who have a Rocker Mom or Dad as a member.
RACD is about doing something for children!
Our focus is on what we, as mothers can do to help, heal and hurry the
progress of research for cures. We are committed, devoted and determined to use our talents in every way we can to help. We encourage all to join our cause!
RACD has been featured in BENEFIT Magazine, Hot Moms Club, on the radio and in the news.
Rockermoms Against Childhood Diseases was founded by
Edwina Phillips, lead singer for the group, IN THERAPY.
Phillips, who has been performing in the San Francisco bay area for most of her life, became involved in fundraising
while training for a marathon to benefit the San Francisco AIDS
Foundation. When not performing, she takes part in both the Nike Women's Marathon to benefit the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Carlsbad Marathon,
benefiting Juvenile Myositis (JM). Phillips, who is also a certified massage therapist and health educator, was featured twice in Massage Magazine.
RACD's co-founder, Jenna Clingingsmith, has been
singing since she could talk and has performed on stages everywhere, including several performances of the National
Anthem at major sporting events. Hailing from a family of EMT's and Firefighters, Jenna is at home caring for
others, and has spent the last few years moonlighting as a certified massage therapist and health educator.
Our children are healthy, but we have been touched by friends and loved ones who have been stricken with childhood illnesses.
We live a life of gratitude and this is our way of giving back and saying "Thank you."
